Not much into the distant past during my school days, when I slept with my room totally dark and my pillows and blanket cold, while it poured outside heavily. As I woke up, I could see the rain hit my windows. I would jump out with joy and declare merrily that “it’s a holiday” and would rush back to the comfort of my bed once again. In such days, when everyone would be at home and mom would make tea and some crisp cutlet to go along with. She would hand me a plate of cutlet as I remained engrossed with a novel or music while it rained. I and my sister often ran to our terrace to watch the mesmerizing and colorful rainbow adorn the sky. Even the next day went good, when we went to our schools in colorful raincoats and umbrellas and played with our friend in the muddy puddles. I remember how I use to assist my younger sister in making the paper boats and watch them sail far away and becoming sad if they drowned.

We always wish rains were still the same as they were when we were children.
